I am a madrileño (born and raised in Madrid) who loves art. I love being a guide sharing the history of Madrid with guests from around the world.
Q. What inspired you to become a guide?
Since I was a child, I have always been interested in learning more about Madrid because I think that the history and the art of our city are amazing! Nowadays, I am a fully licensed professional guide, and I love my job more than anything. I not only show off my beautiful city, but also meet amazing people from all around the world.
Q. Tell us a story from one of your tours.
I love explaining the origin of the city of Madrid, and to see how it changed from being a tiny town to a cosmopolitan European capital city.
I have always worked in the tourism industry.
I am studying an additional degree in Art History because art is my passion.
Velazquez is one of my favorite painters.
Q: Best time of year to enjoy Madrid?
The best time to enjoy Madrid is spring time because of the weather and the joy of people having tapas until late into the night. I also love Madrid at Christmas because of its decoration.
Q: What do you tell your visiting friends to see in Madrid?
I love the museums such as the Prado Museum (I am a big fan of Velázquez), and all the "must-see" spots in Madrid… but I also enjoy the secret places of my city—those places that not everybody knows.
Q: What about the culture in London should people not miss?
The gastronomy! We have some of the best food in our city and I love the tapas culture.
