Pompeii with Panoramic Winery Lunch on Vesuvius: Day Trip from Rome

The Pompeii and Winery tour was fantastic! Tour guides were phenomenal and sites were stunning. 10/10 would recommend!

This is my 6th tour with Walks/Devour out of Rome and I have been thoroughly impressed with every one, as you can see from my previous reviews. I only have one criticism of this particular tour (Pompeii with Vineyard Lunch), and it is in relation to our lunch served at the vineyard. The antipasti plate was tasty; however, the pasta plate (which was the only other savory course served for lunch) was cold, small, and rather flavorless. I am a lover of pasta and have prepared most of the popular Italian (Roman) pastas myself, so I felt they could have done so much better. It was close to two o’clock, I believe, and everyone was starving when the food began to arrive. A few touches like fresh bread on the table, perhaps some Parmigiano Reggiano or Pecorino Romano on the pasta for a bit more flavor, etc. would have made a big difference. When we did ask for cheese, they brought us little packs, like you get at a fast-food restaurant. Everything else was perfect. The guide was knowledgeable and personable. The setting was idealic. The wine selections on point and delicious. With a bit more attention, the lunch could have met the standards of everything else. Thank you!
